How Much Does Christian Counseling for Sexual Addiction Actually Cost?

A straightforward answer to a question most people are afraid to ask

Cost is one of the first practical questions anyone considers before reaching out for help — and it’s a completely reasonable one to ask upfront.‍ ‍

What Pureheart Charges‍ ‍

As a non-profit, Pureheart relies on donations to help keep counseling affordable. Weekly individual sessions typically range from $70 to $100, depending on your counselor’s level of experience. Counseling interns — who are working toward their Master’s in Counseling and receive both theological and practical training in the Pureheart process — are available at a lower cost, though availability varies.‍ ‍

Most Pureheart counselors have pastoral backgrounds, often holding a Master of Divinity and/or a Master’s in Counseling from a Christian institution.‍ ‍

Why Weekly Sessions, Not Occasional Ones‍ ‍

Consistency matters more than most people expect going in. Weekly sessions are standard across Pureheart’s counseling because real, lasting change tends to require sustained, regular engagement — not sporadic check-ins when things feel urgent. ‍

Is it worth the cost?‍ ‍

That’s ultimately a personal decision, but consider the alternative costs of an unaddressed addiction: strain or loss of a marriage, damaged trust with children, career risk, and the ongoing toll of shame and isolation. Weighed against those costs, a weekly counseling investment is often modest by comparison.‍ ‍

If cost is a genuine barrier, it’s worth reaching out directly — Pureheart’s non-profit structure exists specifically to keep this kind of help within reach.
